Overview
To further assist Melbourne’s need for greater accessibility for moving around the City, Thornton Engineering was part of thePalmer’s Road Bridge upgrade for bikes and pedestrians. Working with a valued client we completed the 80.1m long bridge, weighing 247.2T.
Our scope included; workshop detailing, supply and fabrication of the bridge, handrail, support cleats & brackets, bearing plates, cover plates, pipe supports, shear studs, fasteners, cladding, trial assembly & transportation to site.
Thie bridge was done as part of the Federation Trail upgrade. This upgrade consisted of 8 roads; Duncan, Forsyth intersection, Palmers, Sayers, Dohertys, Leakes, Derrimuts and included a further 37 road repairs.
