Overview
This project was for a valued client and involved the design and manufacture of a Waste Heat Boiler. The Waste Heat Boiler was delivered to Queensland and installed into the Nitric Acid Plant.
The scope of work included thermal and mechanical design, material supply, fabrication, manual tube welding, local PWHT, hydrostatic testing, surface treatment, preservation and delivery to site.
When analysing the existing equipment we identified multiple areas for improvement in the design; a blowdown system to lower the concentration of impurities, adjusting baffles for better flow and venting which provides a more consistent velocity.
Design registration was also undertaken with statutory state authorities.
