Westgate Distributor Pedestrian Bridge
The Westgate Distributor Pedestrian bridge was a project we completed for a valued client after the original fabricator went out of business. A total of 437.5T of steel was require to complete this project.
This project came about with the need to improve truck access from Melbourne’s west into the Port of Melbourne. To achieve this, additional lanes were added for the bottleneck, that was Shepherds Bridge and improved connections to Moreland Street to and from Footscray Road. As a result, it would also provide a safer route for cyclist and pedestrians over the Maribyrnong River via the provision of a dedicated Shared Use Path Bridge.
Our scope included; Detailing, Supply and Fabrication of structural steel work, girder beams, folded kick plate, folded fins, shear studs, NDT, surface treatment, assembly into modules, and loading onto transport.
Plate Thickness: up to 50mm
